Change of permanent residence – procedure how to do it
Your first steps should be directed to the municipal office in Čierne, which will ensure de-registration from the previous place of residence and registration of the new address. If you are a multi-member family, one person can handle the registration for the whole family. The condition is that you present valid documents for all family members.
Before visiting the registry office, please prepare

You do not need to de-register from your previous residence, as the civil registry clerk will handle that for you.
Fees for changing permanent residence
Changing your permanent residence is free of charge. However, if you need a confirmation of the change of residence, you will pay 5 euros during a personal visit to the office. You can save half by using electronic services.

Change of documents and notification duties
#1Get a new identity card
Within 30 days of changing your permanent residence, apply for a new identity card at the relevant District Police Directorate (OR PZ). Attach your old identity card to the application for a new identity card. You do not need a confirmation of change of permanent residence; the information about your change of residence is in the population register, and the District Police Directorate has access to this information.

Addresses are not listed on new driving licenses (issued since 2004), so you do not need to change your driving license when your permanent residence changes. However, as a vehicle owner, you are required to notify the traffic inspectorate of the change of permanent residence for the purpose of the vehicle registration document. You have 15 days to do this. Also, do not forget the insurance company where you have your mandatory vehicle insurance (PZP) or comprehensive insurance.
#3Notify your employer of changes
Notify your employer of the change of residence. If you are unemployed, report your new address to the labor office. Entrepreneurs have similar obligations to other authorities.
#4Apply for changes in the registers
If you are an entrepreneur, you have further obligations. If you are a partner or managing director, apply for a change in the Commercial Register within 30 days. As a sole trader, you must inform the Trade Licensing Office about the change within 15 days.
#5Inform other institutions
You should also notify other institutions about your change of address, primarily banks, your mobile operator, energy suppliers, the cadastre, the tax office, or insurance companies.
